EAST CHINA NORMAL UNIVERSITY

East China Normal University is a key University directly under the auspices of the Ministry of Education. It is listed as a member of the "985 project" and "211 project" (National key University). The University is situated in the down town of Shanghai and is well known as a Garden University for its beautiful campus.

East China Normal University is a comprehensive and research University with strong faculty. It has 1,700 full time teachers, including 1,100 professors and associate professors. Covering the academic area of Science, liberal arts, management, engineering, law, education, philosophy, history and economy, The University now has 19 full-time schools, consists of 44 departments offering 61 undergraduate programs, 130 doctoral programs and 170 Master's programs, nearly 13500 undergraduates, 8900 post graduates and about 2700 long-term and short-term International students.

East China Normal University owns the state base for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. It is also pointed by the office of overseas Chinese of the State Council as the Chinese teaching center. The online school of Chinese Language jointly run by the University and the National office of TCFL has become the biggest website in the world for teaching Chinese as a foreign language.

The University is located at a place with very convenient transportation. There are means of transportation around such as subway, light railway and many different bus lines which link to most sections of the city. There are also big shopping centers, banks, post offices, supermarkets and hospitals near the University. Inside the campus, there are school clinic, book store and cinema available. The international students' dorm provides 24 hours free internet access for the students.

EAST CHINA NORMAL UNIVERSITY

East China Normal University has two campuses, both in Shanghai: the old one is Zhongshanbeilu Campus in No.3663, Zhongshan Road(N.), Putuo District; the other is Minhang Campus in No.500 Dongchuan Road, Minhang District. Both two campuses have apartment for International Students, and the accommodation' s price is 35-145 RMB/Night.

  • Rent outside campus is allowed.
  • Offer 24 hours check-in service.
  • One-week check-in before semester's beginning is allowed.
  • Hotel in campus: Academic Exchange Center (Yifu Building) (price list: standard room RMB420/day or RMB498/day; single room RMB588/day; suite RMB988/day)
  • Pay by semester in campus dorm. If you check out halfway, no refund for accommodation.
  • You can either register first or check in.
