SHANDONG UNIVERSITY
Founded in 1901, Shandong University is a key comprehensive university directly under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is one of the oldest renowned universities throughout the country and one of the high-ranking universities whose development is given priority by the state.
The main part of Shandong University is located in Jinan with several campuses, and it has a branch in Weihai, a coastal city in Shandong province. The current president is professor Zhan Tao, an outstanding mathematician.
Shandong University provides programs for bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. The above programs cover 11 fields of study, namely, literature, history, philosophy, economics, management, law, science, engineering, medicine, pedagogy and military science. Shandong University now has 25 first-level and 178 second-level doctoral degree conferring programs; 15 postdoctoral research programs; 248 master's degree granting programs and 7 professional degree granting programs: law (master's), business management (master's), public management (master's), engineering (master's), clinical medicine (master's and doctoral). Public health (master's); and 103 bachelor's degree programs.
Shandong University is now made up of 30 colleges, 3 affiliated hospitals, 12 internship hospitals and a postgraduate institute. Currently, the number of undergraduate students has surpassed 40,000 and postgraduate students 10,000.
Shandong University is a higher learning institution open to the world. Over the years, Shandong University has established a broad international network for educational cooperation and has signed exchange agreements with over 70 universities from over 50 countries. The university remains active in academic cooperation and exchanges with over 100 educational and research institutions worldwide. The university becomes an important education base for international students. Since 1980, Shandong University has received over 10,000 students from over 60 countries.
Shandong University offers Medical program for international students.The aim of Medical program to became the qualified physician and surgeon through 5 year training in medical school and hospital.This program is taught in English, and all lecturers and professors in this program are specially trained for international students.
We started this program in 2002, and now we have more than 150 students from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, English, and the United States etc. The curriculum of this program is based on the British Commonwealth educational system.

All international students should pay a deposit fee of 600 RMB for the accommodation when checking-in. The student will get this fee returned when leaving the room without damaging it. The monthly accommodation fee may depend on the campus and dorm type. On-campus internet is free.

Admitted students who have received their admission notice and are interested in living on-campus must apply first. The earliest date to move-in is three days before the registration date stated on your admission notice; otherwise, the university will not accommodate your early arrival.
