Asia Europe Business School was founded by East China Normal University and emlyon business school on June 24, 2015. The School was co-built by East China Normal University, emlyon business school, Municipality of Minhang Distrcit Shanghai and Shanghai Zizhu Hi-Tech Zone (Group) Co., Ltd. The establishment of Asia Europe Business School is the crystallization of nine years in-depth strategic cooperation between East China Normal University and emlyon business school, which marks another leap forward development of the cooperation between the two institutions, and an important step for East China Normal University in the process of internationalization.
With the mission to develop the Belt and Road entrepreneurs and cross-border talents, Asia Europe Business School is committed to cultivating the students to be cross-border commercial talents and entrepreneurs with profound humanistic connotations and social responsibility, and to be envoys of the Belt and Road. The School adheres to the values of Creativity, Co-creation, Cause-related Responsibility, with distinct characteristics: combining the business administration education of the emlyon business school with the humanities, social science, technology innovation and other advantageous disciplines of East China Normal University. Asia Europe Business School is located in Zizhu International Education Park, Minhang District of Shanghai where there are large numbers of Chinese-foreign cooperation (or international) projects and institutions stationed, including the surrounding Intel, Microsoft, HP and many other domestic and foreign high-tech enterprises; adjacent to Shanghai Jiao Tong University and East China Normal University, the Park is equipped with student apartments, canteen and other living facilities, which provide students with international learning and living environment.

The student's apartment of Asia Europe Business School is located in B2 Building (new building open in September 2019) at Zizhu International Education Park and managed by Shanghai Zizhu International Education Park Co., Ltd. Each floor (1-16) of B2 Building has 10 rooms, and there are shared 4-bed rooms and shared 2-bed rooms.
