Summer Chinese Program
Non DegreePROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
- This program involves intensive Chinese classes, lectures, and culture workshops which will help students to improve language proficiency and knowlege of the city.
- Students can experience the rich China cultural heritage by a trip to the historical ancient city of Xi'an.
Foreigners in Shanghai can attend offline classes on campus. During the 4-week winter vacation, you can practice your Chinese listening and speaking skills in a short period, experience authentic Chinese culture, and get to know Chinese learning partners.
Chinese classes
▲Level: Elementary (including beginners), intermediate, advanced. Sub-divided levels are set based on students' language abilities.
▲Target: mainly focus on enhancing students' oral expressive abilities, combined with grammar and topic discussion.
Lectures/workshop
▲To learn further about Chinese culture by attending the lectures or workshops arranged twice a week in the afternoon.
▲The lectures tend to introduce Shanghai and its vicinity, Chinese character, Chinese pronunciation, Shanghai cuisine, etc. The workshops will involve Chinese painting, Chinese calligraphy, making dumplings, making Chinese knots, etc.
Language Practice
▲Various teaching activities will be held every Friday among students in the same class level. For example, flea market, sports meeting, indoor exploration, runway show, etc.
▲Students can improve their ability to communicate in Chinese by practice in the real life situation.
Eligibility
☑ Applicants must be currently in Shanghai with a valid Residence Permit or student visa.
☑ Before coming to the campus for enrollment, students must meet the requirements of pandemic control of the university and the Shanghai government.
