1002 Clinical Medicine (First-level Discipline): The doctoral program of clinical medicine is a key discipline of Zhejiang Province during the 12th Five-year Plan period and a first-class discipline during the 13th Five-year Plan period. It ranks in the top 1% of ESI since 2015. The School has excellent faculty and solid discipline foundation, including a national-level teaching team with 309 postgraduate supervisors and 60 doctoral supervisors. 28 times of which are selected as national or provincial high-level talents. 51% of the professors have overseas education or work experience. In recent years, 120 professors have been sent to UCL for clinical teaching and training and 46 have visited Harvard University and other famous overseas universities. The school has 11 affiliated hospitals (2 directly affiliated hospital of the first class) and more than 10000 beds. The school also has 9 provincial key disciplines, 13 provincial regional disease research centers, 5 national planning and training bases, 2 provincial key laboratories and 13 provincial innovation teams. The school has obvious clinical advantages and distinctive scientific research features. The first lung transplantation was realized in Zhejiang province and nearly 300 cases liver and kidney transplantation in the past five years have been successfully completed. More than 1800 cases of coronary intervention, 1500 cases of radiofrequency ablation and 2000 cases of amputation were completed. The program also shows its characteristics in drug addiction and relapse mechanism and comprehensive intervention, Alzheimer’s disease pathological mechanism and prevention and treatment, early screening and diagnosis and treatment of digestive tract tumors and other aspects. In the past five years, we have presided over 87 state-level projects (2 key ones) and 108 provincial-level projects, with a research budget of 180 million Yuan. The school teaching team has won 1 second prize of National Science & Technology Progress Award and 16 provincial Science & Technology Award. Our faculty has been granted 34 invention patents and has published 1032 papers (422 SCI papers &7 ESI cited papers) and 29 textbooks and monographs.

With the basic mission of cultivating excellent medical talents and as the leading discipline of the provincial key university, the school has formed a complete clinical medical education system of undergraduate, master and PhD program.
