Senior Advanced Studies Arts Majors (Chinese-Taught)
Non DegreeThe senior advanced studies program enrolls international current master’s students (or equivalent) or above. Applicants can take graduate courses in BNU faculties, schools or departments. The study period is one semester or one academic year.
Application Requirements
1. Non-Chinese citizen holding a valid foreign passport and between 18-45 years old.
2. Current master’s student (or equivalent) or above.
3. Qualify the relevant Chinese proficiency requirements of the applicant major
(1) Chinese-taught master's students
-School of Chinese Language and Culture: Minimum score of 220 and above in the HSK (Level 6), Minimum score of 65 and above in the HSSK (advanced) ;
-School of Chinese and Literature: Minimum score of 210 and and above in the HSK (Level 5);
-Other majors: Minimum score of 195 and above in the HSK (Level 5);
(2) Chinese-taught doctorate students
-School of Chinese Language and Culture: Minimum score of 240 and above in the HSK (Level 6), Minimum score of 65 and above in the HSSK (advanced) ;
-School of Chinese and Literature: Minimum score of 210 and and above in the HSK (Level 5);
-Other majors: Minimum score of 195 and above in the HSK (Level 5);
Application Documents
1. “Beijing Normal University International Students Application Form”.
2. A scanned copy of the passport photo page. Applicants who have a Chinese visa must provide a copy of the recent visa page.
3. Certificate of master's degree (or equivalent) or above, a photocopy of certificate may be submitted.
4. Transcript of study of the latest academic qualification, a photocopy may be submitted.
5. HSK certificate and transcript. The examination time on the HSK certificate should be no earlier than October 1, 2018
6. Two letters of recommendation by your teachers. Exchange students or students dispatched by friendly institutions according to the agreement only need to provide one letter of recommendation by their teacher. The letter of recommendation has no fixed format, but it must be signed by the teacher.
7. Application fee of RMB 450 (pay online). Exchange students can waive the application fee according to the relevant agreement.
8. Applicants holding study visa of institutions in China must provide the original transfer agreement issued by the institution and the original certificate of completion.
* All application documents must be in Chinese or English, please provide the notarized version of documents translated to Chinese or English.
* Application documents and application fee are non-refundable, they will not be returned regardless of whether the applicant is admitted by the University.
