Computer science and technology are the cornerstone of the information age and the main driving force behind the emergence and development of emerging interdisciplinary research fields based on computing and data. The development of computer software and hardware technology is changing with each passing day. Undergraduate students of this major need to understand and master the theoretical system and development trend of computer science and technology. They need to have a deep understanding of the principles and technologies of computer architecture and software. They need to develop the ability to solve complex problems, and the ability to engage in research, development, and education in computer theory, computer architecture, networking, software, computing, applications, or in computer science-related interdisciplinary fields.

Discrete Mathematics, Data Structures, Digital Logic Circuits, Signals and Systems, Algorithm Design and Analysis, VLSI System Design, Information Theory Foundation, Artificial Intelligence Foundation, Database Principles, Software Engineering, Data Mining, Information Assurance and Security, Parallel Computing, etc.

- Long-term and stable cooperative relations with well-known enterprises in the IT industry at home and abroad such as Tencent, Baidu, Microsoft Research Asia, IBM, Google, and Intel.
- Research cooperation have been established with Harvard University, Carnegie Mellon University, University of California at Berkeley, Georgia Tech, South Carolina University, Humboldt University, JAIST and Saitama University, Nanyang Technological University, National University of Singapore, University of Ottawa, Al University of Berta and other internationally renowned universities.
Career choices
The graduates of this major have a very wide range of career choices. Students can choose to work in government agencies, banks, finance industry, and most importantly IT industry, such as Tencent, Baidu, Google, Huawei, and ZTE, and IBM, etc.
General Qualifications
- Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding a valid foreign passport and must comply with the relevant regulations stipulated in "Document No. 12 (2020) of the Ministry of Education of the PRC."
- Must be in good physical and mental health.
- Applicants who will be under 18 years of age (as of September) must provide a notarized Letter of Guarantee from their designated guardian in China.

- Language Proficiency Certificates:
- English Taught: IELTS with an overall score of 5.5/6.0 or TOEFL iBT 85 (requirements vary by university).
- Chinese Taught: HSK 4–6 (levels and minimum scores vary by major and university).
- Academic Diplomas: High School Diploma (for Bachelor's Degree applicants) or Bachelor's/Master's Diploma (for Master's/Doctoral Degree applicants). - Two (2) Letters of Recommendation: Required from two high school teachers (for Bachelor's Degree) or two university professors/associate professors (for Master's/Doctoral Degrees). Letters must be issued on official letterhead, bear an official stamp from the institution, and include the recommender's email and phone number.

- Additional Requirements: Specific requirements vary by university. Examples include:

Note
- Documents 4 through 6 MUST be translated into English or Mandarin and officially legalized by the issuing institution. Alternatively, the services of a sworn translator may be utilized.
- Please neatly scan each document into PDF format. The file size for each document must not exceed 14 MB (the passport photograph must adhere to the specific requirements listed above). All documents must then be uploaded to the system at www.greatwall.co.id.
