Major Introduction:
The School of Software Engineering is the first batch of national demonstration software colleges approved by the Ministry of Education in 2001. The school adheres to the teaching idea of "New Mechanism for Operation, New Pattern for Training; Intensive Engineering Training, Close Cooperation with Enterprise , Achieve International Integration; Cultivate comprehensive elites with good foundation, strong ability, excellent English and collaborative ability for software research and development", and is committed to cultivate high-level international software elites. The college has the "National Experimental Zone of Innovation Model to Cultivate Software Talent", the first batch of "Excellent Engineer Education Program" pilot majors of the Ministry of Education, the "National Engineering Practice Education Center" and the "Comprehensive Reform for Undergraduate" pilot majors of the Ministry of Education, the "Experimental Zone of Innovation Model to Cultivate Software Talent" of Guangdong Province, and the "Comprehensive Reform for Undergraduate" pilot majors of Guangdong Province. This training program focuses on the cultivation of engineering talents, and strengthens the spirit and ability of innovation through innovative teaching methods, outstanding practice links and introduction of corporate project training.
Core Curriculum:
Introduction to Computer and Software Engineering, Discrete Mathematics, Digital Logic, Data Structure and Algorithm, Operating System, Compiling Technology, Computer Network, Database System, Software Architecture, Software Testing and Maintenance
General Qualifications
- Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent qualification (for Bachelor's Degree applicants) or Bachelor's Diploma (for Master's Degree applicants).
- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding a valid foreign passport and must comply with the relevant regulations stipulated in "Document No. 12 (2020) of the Ministry of Education of the PRC."
- Must be in good physical and mental health.
- Applicants who are still under 18 as of September (per admission year) must provide a notarized Letter of Guarantee from their designated guardian in China.

1. The CSCA score is specifically required for Bachelor's Degree application. This requirement also varies for each university.

4. Language Proficiency Certificates:
- English Taught: IELTS with an overall score of 5.5-6.5 or TOEFL iBT 80-90 (requirements vary by university).
- Chinese Taught: HSK 4–6 (levels and minimum scores vary by major and university).
5. Academic Diplomas: High School Diploma (for Bachelor's Degree applicants) or Bachelor's Diploma (for Master's Degree applicants). Applicants who have not yet graduated must submit an official Pre-Graduation Statement from their high school or university. (bit.ly/PreGraduationLetter)
6. Academic Transcripts: High School Transcripts (for Bachelor's Degree) or University Transcripts (for Master's Degrees), compiled into a single file. 7. Two (2) Letters of Recommendation: Required from two high school teachers (for Bachelor's Degree) or two university professors/associate professors (for Master's Degrees). Note
- Documents 5 through 6 MUST be in English or Mandarin and officially legalized by the issuing institution (high school or university). Alternatively, the services of a sworn translator may be utilized.
